Ben Kane’s passion for history has taken him to more than 60 countries, and all 7 continents. He has walked hundreds of miles in Roman military gear, including Hadrian’s Wall, and is known to lead history tours in Italy and Germany. Eleven of his twenty novels have been Sunday Times Top Ten bestsellers. Published in fifteen countries, he has sold more than two and a quarter million books worldwide. He lives in Somerset, where he writes full time.

Join us for an evening of family fun at the Malmesbury Primary School Summer Fete. There will be a BBQ and bar, carnival games, a raffle with fantastic prizes, a tombola, sweets, cakes, face tattoos, nail painting, hair braiding, a STEM challenge and much more.

You’ll meet the contenders. Each will be introduced and then you, the audience, will narrow them down until there is just one…

It will be an entertaining and amazing evening and you will be spoilt for choice - you have no idea what some of our historical characters have got up to (and got away with!).

Exploring how centuries of working the land has shaped the hills, fields, and villages that surround us, Cotswolds: Field & Folk explores the relationship between people and landscape.

Told through the voices of farmers, historians and conservationists, the film also explores the challenges facing rural life today — from changing farming practices to environmental pressures — while celebrating those who are working to care for the land and keep its traditions alive.
